Deck Services

This is how we do it!

Deck Cleaning & Power Washing – Day 1

Pressure (or power) washing is the best way to clean deep down dirt and prepare the wood for a penetrating sealing or staining. We use a pressure washer, averaging 2500 PSI, with a fanned-tip lowering the overall direct pressure that is used. This is done in a slow systematic process to prevent any unsightly lines, gouges or damage to the wood.

Only water is used in pressure washing cleaning. We have found that the addition of any spray-on cleaners or bleaches will change the natural color of the wood and affect the final cosmetics of the penetrating sealer/stain application. Additionally, since we don’t use chemicals, there will be no harm or damage to your plants or gardens near the project.

We ask that all furniture be moved off prior to us starting your job. We can move around large/heavy pieces as needed.

Staining & Sealing – Day 2

Since 1995, Chicagoland Deck Cleaning & Sealing has sealed/stained every deck with Rymar Wood Sealer. We have developed a great working relationship with the owners of Rymar which allows us to obtain cutting-edge industry information from the manufacturer of the Rymar Wood Sealer. Rymar’s research on new products, exotic hardwoods, EPA issues and industry changes benefits the work we do for our customers.

Application:

  • Rymar Wood Sealer is applied with a variety of different sized brushes to ensure all wood areas are sealed.
  • Brush application guarantees maximum penetration and a uniform appearance.
  • Brush application maximizes the amount of sealer introduced into the wood and not sprayed in the air.
  • Brush application reduces the possibility of sealer getting on non-deck areas.
  • Hard to get at areas or lattice areas may be sprayed and worked in with brushes.
  • Rymar Wood Sealer is a one-coat product.

Your deck, fence or porch will be dry in 24 hours (in summer) to 48 hours (in early Spring and late Fall) and ready for your use.
